About
Kirthi is a graphic designer whose practice explores identity, memory and diasporic belonging. Rooted in her own experience as a member of the Tamil diaspora, her work often examines the intergenerational impact of displacement and war. Through design, film and archival research, she creates spaces for underrepresented narratives to be seen and preserved.

The Translation Leaves Much to Be Desired

2025

in collaboration with Omama Mahmood

Editorial Design

School project

The Translation Leaves Much to Be Desired is a publication that explores words in both Tamil and Urdu that cannot be translated completely into English. The publication tries its best to translate a series of words but proves it point as the descriptions do in fact leave much to be desired.
